Jetpack: Google Reader Checker - Version 0.1b (21 May, 2009)

This Jetpack will put a small Google Reader icon on the bottom right of your Firefox window, displaying the total unread RSS items, as well as popping up, when new RSS items were added.

What it does:
• Adds an icon to the statusbar showing unread items
• Notifies when new items are added
• By clicking on the icon, you change to the Google Reader tab if Google Reader is already open, if not it will open a new tab

Installation

This script requires the Jetpack addon for Firefox found here: https://jetpack.mozillalabs.com/, if you have this extension, you can click on install on the top right.
